Chat finds answers for short, informal and follow-up questions too
Questions such as «dog tax» or «and 2027?» often found nothing in the knowledge base: short lowercase questions triggered no search, follow-ups searched the previous question again, and informally phrased questions scored below the relevance threshold. The assistant now rewrites such questions into a standalone standard German search query and searches with both versions. If nothing clear is found, the agent receives the best hits marked as uncertain and searches once more on its own before saying it does not know. Long, clear questions run as before without extra waiting time.
- Short questions and follow-ups A single keyword searches again, and a follow-up is completed with the topic from the conversation instead of searching the previous question again.
- Informal questions Informally phrased questions are converted into standard German for the search. The assistant keeps answering in the user's language.
- Uncertain hits instead of nothing If everything is just below the relevance threshold, the agent sees the three best hits marked as uncertain and uses them only if they answer the question.
